Hong Kong to Los Angeles. Cathay has launched a third daily service offering a greater choice of timely connections across the US. China Southern Airlines
China Southern Airlines is expanding its summer 2005 service between Beijing and Hong Kong with a new double daily service. The new flight is serviced by a brand-new Airbus A330 aircraft - with flat bed Premium Business Class seats.


Continental Airlines
Continental Airlines continues to be the only major U.S. carrier to offer a full array of complimentary amenities to customers traveling in economy on domestic flights including meals, entertainment, non-alcoholic beverages, pillows, blankets, and magazines. Meals and snacks are served in economy class on flights over two hours in length. Many of Continental's domestic flights include free inflight audio and visual entertainment. July's feature films include: Fever Pitch, In Good Company, Miss Congeniality and Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, and Beauty Shop.

Continental Airlines announced it will begin new weekly nonstop service between Houston, Texas and the Caribbean island of Bonaire in the Netherlands Antilles, on Dec. 16, 2005, pending government approval. The weekly flight will depart Houston on Fridays at 11:30 p.m., arriving in Bonaire at 6:15 a.m. on Saturday. The return flight will depart Bonaire on Saturdays at 8 a.m., arriving in Houston at 10:50 a.m. Continental will utilize a Boeing 737 aircraft with seating for 12 in first class and 112 in coach on the approximately five-hour flight.

Continental Airlines has inaugurated nonstop flights from its New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport to Berlin/Tegel, Germany. This latest route makes Continental the leading U.S. carrier in terms of cities served across the Atlantic, bringing the total to 24 in 13 countries. Flight CO96 departs New York/Newark daily at 6:45 p.m. and arrives in Berlin at 8:40 a.m. the next day. Flight CO97 leaves Berlin daily at 10:15 a.m. and arrives at New York/Newark at 1:25 p.m. the same day. The flight times are seven hours and 55 minutes traveling east and nine hours and 10 minutes traveling west. During the winter months, when demand traditionally declines, Continental will operate five flights per week on the route, reverting to a daily service in spring 2006.

The new flights feature Continental's renowned BusinessFirst service. This premium-class cabin features extra-wide electronic sleeper seats with 55-inch pitch, adjustable winged headrests and personal video screens. Other BusinessFirst amenities include gourmet menus and award-winning wines and champagnes. A specially selected and trained corps of more than 200 concierges provides individualized pre-flight and post-flight services for BusinessFirst customers at 26 key international airports worldwide. BusinessFirst was also voted Best Transatlantic Business Class among U.S. airlines in Conde Nast Traveler magazine's Business Travel Awards 2004 for the seventh year in a row.


 

Garuda Airways
Please be informed that wef from 18th July 2005, Garuda Indonesia will be increasing an additional service on Mondays from Singapore to Shanghai.

GA 896 departs Singapore at 0150 every Mon, Tues, Thursday, Sun and arrives in Shanghai at 0705 on the same day.

GA 897 returns from Shanghai to Singapore every Mon, Tues, Thursday, Sun at 1005, arriving at 1525 the same day.


KLM
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is to increase its fuel surcharge by EUR 14 per stretch on all long-haul flights.

This increase will be imposed on tickets issued from July 19, 2005. KLM said that the increase would be withdrawn as soon as the barrel price drops below US$50 for 30 consecutive days.

Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways is upgrading its Doha - Singapore route with a new daily non-stop service operated by bigger capacity aircraft, from 15 July 2005.

With the new daily non-stop service, passengers will benefit from a shorter flight and experience Qatar Airways’ larger capacity widebody Airbus A330-200 aircraft, which features a fully interactive inflight entertainment system in every seat. The Singapore route will be operated in a two-class configuration of up to 247 seats in Economy and 24 in Business.
