Qatar Airways
Qatar Airways’ frequent flyer programme, Privilege Club, is celebrating
its fifth birthday with a promotional offer of up to 5,000 bonus Qmiles
for its most loyal members.
Fly
First or Business Class return to any one of Qatar Airways’ 62
destinations worldwide until the end of May, and members receive a one-time
anniversary gift of 1,000 Qmiles for each year they have been with Privilege
Club.
A
member who joined the programme in May 2000, for example, will receive
a gift of 5,000 Qmiles. Members who have been with Privilege Club for
less than a year will receive an anniversary gift of 500 Qmiles.
Singapore
Airlines
From April 2005, passengers whose travel plans involve flights on Singapore
Airlines and United Airlines will enjoy the convenience of only requiring
an electronic-ticket (e-ticket) for the entire journey. In addition,
Singapore Airlines' KrisFlyer members and United Airlines' Mileage Plus
members will be able to redeem their frequent flier miles towards e-ticketed
interline travel.
Swiss
SWISS passengers will be able to once again enjoy complimentary inflight
food and beverages on European flights in Swiss Economy with effect
May 25, 2005. The airline is teaming up with Swiss food manufacturer
Nestlé to provide a combination of snack and drink items, which
vary according to the time of day and length of the flight. Longer flights
feature a hot snack; a cold snack is served on
shorter flights.
Thai Airways International
From 1 June 2005, Royal Orchid Plus members will not be able to accrue
mileage for two classes of booking - V and W.
Tiger Airways
Singapore-based Tiger Airways became the first budget carrier to begin
service in Vietnam on April 1. It
operates four flights a week between Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore
and three flights a week between Hanoi and the island-state.
