It seems that Corporate Travellers are well connected and are looking to enjoy the same creature comforts of home when abroad. A recent survey found some fascinating results. You may read about it in our Travel News Column.

Creature comforts are taking to the air as well. You can now enjoy wireless broadband connectivity on Singapore-London flights on Singapore Airlines. Northwest and Mastercard have teamed up to spoil you rotten with an Apple iMac if you travel to the Big Apple.

If you are not yet using e-tickets, you better catch up. The Economist has a fascinating report on IATA's plan for “Simplifying the Business”, a plan for revolutionizing cost and technology in the airline industry. We reprint some of this article on page three.

- IMPORTANT NOTICE: Changi Airport Security advises that a passengers name on his or her passport must tally with his or her booking name upon check-in to avoid rejection upon check-in.

- Now is probably the best time to visit Athens, Greece. A sparkling modern airport, a state-of-the-art subway system, a convenient new tram network and a crop of refurbished or new hotels with rates 30% less than a year ago mean that the city no longer reflect the description by Melina Mercouri as "a tired old lady in need of some lipstick".

- Fears that the confined space of commercial airliners and recycled air in aircraft cabins help spread flu and other respiratory diseases among passengers are largely unfounded, according to a new study. Click here to read the full report.

- BEIJING: China's first private airline of the communist era launched its maiden flight Friday 11th March 2005, opening a new chapter for efforts to modernize the country's booming air travel industry. The Okay Airways Boeing 737-900, with 81 people aboard, flew from the airline's base in the eastern city of Tianjin to Kunming, a popular tourist spot in the mountain southwest. China also has approved the launch of three other privately owned carriers as it tries to build up modern airlines able to compete with bigger, established foreign rivals.

- China has given the green light to link Hong Kong to Macau and the mainland with a multi-billion-dollar road bridge reports the China Daily.

Delta Airlines Starting April 3, Delta will scrap its food sales and offer a free, expanded snack selection to coach passengers. As is the case now, coach passengers on Delta flights of less than 90 minutes will receive no food. The new policy applies to flights in the USA, Canada and to some Latin America and Caribbean destinations. Delta will eliminate pillows from its cabins, and alcohol prices will go up a dollar to $5. Delta coach passengers will get to choose from granola bars, multigrain chips, honey-roasted peanuts and animal crackers. On longer flights, they'll also get a snack box with crackers, cheese, raisins and Oreos. Delta's Song flights will continue to sell food, because Song doesn't offer any free snacks, and flight durations tend to be long.
