AIRLINE QUICK UPDATES

SINGAPORE AIRLINES - FARES INCREASE FROM 1ST APRIL
Please be informed that Singapore Airlines will be implementing the new IATA Fare Package for ex-SIN travel with effect on/after 1 April 2006. All existing bookings must be ticketed by 31st March to avoid the increases.

The fare changes by regions are as follows:

Region % Fare Increment for Normal Return-Trip (RT) from 1 April

• Within Southeast Asia, Japan and Korea - F and C Classes: +2%
• South Asian Subcontinent - F and C Classes: +3%
• Southwest Pacific - F, C and Y Classes: +3%
• Africa - F, C and Y Classes: +5%
• Central and South America via Pacific - F and C Classes: +5%; Y Class: +3%
• Middle East - F, C and Y Classes except YEE: +5%; Introduce new YEE at 135% of current YOW to AMM/ BEY/ DAM/ JED/ KWI/ RUH

Karen MacNeil, one of America’s highly acclaimed wine professionals, has joined Singapore Airlines' distinguished panel of wine experts.

Passengers flying to and from Sydney will now be able to connect online at 35,000 feet at the same speed and access they enjoy from broadband connections on the ground, with Connexion by Boeing's inflight internet service.

 

AIR CANADA
Air Canada's has launched 'Spring Sample Pass' a multi-trip Flight Pass for four one-way trips (or two round-trips) starting from US$396 - just US$99 per trip including connecting flights. The pass is valid for flights anywhere Air Canada, Jazz and their regional partners fly within one of eight geographic zones in Canada and the continental United States. This special limited time offer is now available for purchase until April 8, 2006, for travel until June 11, 2006. Prices vary by zone, include airport fees and charges, and exclude GST and QST if applicable.

BANGKOK AIRWAYS
Is to increase its frequency on the Samui-Singapore route to daily beginning 18 April 2006.

LAN AIRLINES
Is to increase flights from Sydney to Santiago, Chile, with a sixth weekly service from July, and aspirations for daily departures by early 2007.

NOK AIR
Thailand's Nok Air has launched a new customer service - Nok X. The new service offers speedy check-in for Nok Air passengers who have only carry-on luggage. All passengers have to do is show their booking number and an ID card or passport to Nok Air’s roving Xpress staff at the airport, who then print out the boarding pass from a handheld PDA.

OZ JET
Australia's first business class only carrier has ceased to operate. The aircraft will be leased for private charter.

TIGER AIRWAYS
Has upped the ante in low-cost travel with its latest 3-3-3 fare promotion. For the month of March, Tiger Airways will be launching three promotions, each offering an unprecedented Sin$3 one-way airfare to three exciting destinations over three days. This promotion extends to the return trip as well.

VIRGIN BLUE
Is to offer movie entertainment via personal ‘video on demand’ players on its Perth flights from next month

THE MANDARIN ORIENTAL HYDE PARK
Has launched a ‘Celebration Package’. With a memorable dinner, beautiful room and thoughtful gift all taken care of, all that remains is to relax and enjoy the evening together. The ‘Celebration Package’ is priced from GBP 499 exclusive of VAT and 5% service charge, per room per night. Based on double occupancy, the package includes full English breakfast for two people. CROWNE PLAZA TO OPEN IN NEW DELHI
Has signed an agreement with Today Hotels Pvt. Ltd. to manage the brand new Crowne Plaza Gurgaon New Delhi, scheduled to open in the last quarter of 2006.
Situated in the heart of Leisure Valley, the new city centre of Gurgaon, which comprises an ultramodern commercial, cultural and entertainment hub, the Crowne Plaza Gurgaon will be the first brand-defining Crowne Plaza hotel in India.

SHANGRI-LA HOTELS AND RESORTS
Has enhanced its "Value Rate," which provides an extensive array of benefits to guests paying non-discounted room rates, available at all times throughout the year with no restrictions. The concept has also been launched for the first time at all the group's four-star Traders hotels. Learn more.
