In
Airline
News this month, Cathay Pacific
has enhanced their business class offering and Emirates,
under instruction from the Dubai Airports Authority, has reduced
the maximum weight for one piece of luggage to 32 kilos.
Lufthansa
has added 8 additional flights to its Asia Pacific Shedule;
Thai Airways has added more flights to its
Winter Schedule and AirAsia's AWAIR is now
flying return to Kuala Lumpur's International Airport from three
ports in Indonesia. Japan and Korea Airlines
are code-sharing more flights; India's Jet Airways
now flies direct between Delhi and London and Tiger
Airways now flies from Singapore to Kolkata.
Hong
Kong Express, a new airline which aims to carry business
travellers from Hong Kong's Chek Lap Airport to Guangzhou and
Hangzhou has launched.
In
somewhat odd news from airlines, Singapore Airlines,
in a clear move to seduce first class passengers, is now issuing
Givenchy Sleeping Suits whilst increasing their Fuel Surcharges
to all passengers. Virgin Atlantic is offering
passengers Mind Training Technology from Inner Talk so that
you can chase away those work demons and get a decent sleep
(so they say).
And
finally, US Airways is now the largest low
cost carrier in the USA, having completed its merger with America

Airport
News features the KLM Crown Lounge at Amsterdam
Airport Schiphol, which has been considerably expanded
and now offers a fully refurbished interior and improved catering
service. Airlines are advising that when travelling from the
Philippines and Manila, make sure that you leave at least four
hours before your flight departs the Ninoy Aquino International
Airport in order to have sufficient time to go through
stringent security measures. Changi Airport
will launch self help kiosks in 2006.
In
Hotel
News this month, Shangri La New Delhi
hotel has had its soft opening pending the official opening
in November. We continue to feature the Langham Place
Hotel and this month we focus on their Blissful Bed.
The InterContinental Hotels Group is boasting China's first
Venice themed business hotel, the Crowne Plaza Shenzhen
which is apparently a very nice place to stay. Learn more about
